Making a custom cutaway in a Gibson acoustic guitar
My friend Junior asked me to create a cutaway in his Gibson acoustic. I usually keep vintage guitars in their original condition, but since this one was in pretty rough shape, I said yes. This was a fun mod to do!

It’s not something I'd do often, but making this cutaway was fun
Our repair work is about restoring and maintaining guitars in their original condition. This job was an exception: Junior loved this guitar and he knew it wasn't a vintage rarity. He wanted that cutaway, and just this once I decided to do the kind of "cosmetic surgery" that we normally turn down in our "Guitar Hospital."—Bryan
